Road Fund is assisting a vulnerable family at Ribaneng in the Mafeteng district. Identification of the family was in line with the focus for this year to assist the vulnerable elderly and children alike; and this family qualified as it is child headed with four children living together in a dilapidated rondavel.

The CSR Committee of the Fund visited these children and found that they live by themselves as cousins, and the two eldest ones are both 14 years old. The other two are 8 years old and 2 years old respectively.

The Committee discovered that the children survive on community handouts; they have no clothes and food; and no blankets and mattresses.

Given the state of vulnerability of the family, they were assisted with food parcels on a monthly basis from November 2021. They were also assisted with clothes, school uniform and shoes. The rondavel in which they stay has been renovated, it has been rethatched, fitted new door and windows to improve its habitability.

The donation is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility programme of the Road Fund, where vulnerable groups are identified and assisted, depending on their needs and availability of funds.
