In response to the call by the Ministry of Education and Training “Back to School Day”, the Road Fund has once again responded positively, through marking of the day, with the purpose to support vulnerable learners with their school needs, especially at the beginning of the year.
The Back to School Day was marked under the theme “Extend a helping hand to learners and make a difference in their education”
In line with the theme for the day, the Road Fund staff members came to work glad in their school uniform, and randomly selected a school where they would assist the learners, in accordance with their identified needs.
Last year, Lesia Primary School was selected as the beneficiary of the Back to School Day and a total of forty vulnerable learners were assisted with full school uniform packages.
The assistance of the learners will be implemented under the Road Fund Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
