Road Fund collects road user charges from a variety of streams including Toll Gate fees, Short term and Special motor vehicle permits, Road Maintenance Levy and Fines on Traffic Offences.
The Road Fund was established under the Section 21(3) of the Public Financial Management and Accountability Act 2011 and operationalised by the Finance (Road Fund) Regulations 2012. It is dedicated to collection of revenue and disbursement of funds for maintenance of roads.
