The Road Safety Department has launched an awareness campaign, which started running run in the three regions of the country from October 19, 2020 to January 06, 2021.
At the launching ceremony held in Maseru, the Department unveiled the theme for the campaign as “Safety on Roads and Awareness on COVID-19 Campaign.
The intention is to further educate the nation about the importance of keeping safe on the roads during the upcoming festive season, as well as taking necessary precautions to avoid being infected with COVID-19.
The campaign will be conducted in collaboration with Executive Transport and Matekane Group of Companies, who have also sponsored the campaign and pledged two mobile clinics for the entire duration of the campaign.
The Launch was officiated by the two Ministers of Health Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo and Minister of Transport Mr. Tšoeu Mokeretla.
As part of its mandate, which is to promote road user safety programmes, Road Fund has sponsored the campaign to a tune of M150,000.00.
