The Road Fund Management has recently organized a counselling session for staff members on survival and excellence in the workplace during the COVID-19 era.
COVID-19, otherwise known as corona virus, is a global pandemic that has brought a lot of panic amongst the work force and the public in general. Workers are facing mental health challenges as they go through a mixture of job insecurities and associated financial concerns resulting in increased episodes of depression and anxiety attacks.
In an effort to manage the above mentioned challenges, the Fund’s Management saw it befitting to engage a renowned counsellor, Dr. Tšepang Majara who is the founder of Mind Liberation Psychology Consultancy to address the Fund’s staff and encourage them through counselling.
Dr. Majara commenced his assignment by engaging staff one by one so as to understand individual challenges and experiences during this era. He then organized group sessions for staff and Management, then later engaged everyone together for feedback on his findings from the one on one sessions.
The counsellor encouraged every employee to “GO FOR GOLD” for the growth of the company. He clarified that many companies fail to grow due to the workers’ negative mindsets that forget to explore the positives even when times are hard like it is the case since the pandemic hit the country.
He further indicated that it is important for workers to remain professional and ethical in line with the vision and mission of the Fund, adding that when all understand the strategic plan it is easy to work together to achieve more no matter the challenges.
“It is essential to work together as a team, you need one another in order to succeed. I urge you to strengthen your communication as it is key in anything that the Fund hopes to achieve,” he reiterated.
The Road Fund Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nkekeletse Makara acknowledged guidance from Dr. Majara and applauded him for doing a good job to revive the working spirit amongst the Fund’s employees especially during the time when people are uncertain about their future due to the pandemic.
He encouraged staff to remain open minded and vigilant as the Fund’s leadership is always exploring ways to make every staff member conversant with the Fund’s initiatives towards a common goal, adding that it is up to every staff member to strengthen communication initiatives within the Fund.
