As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, the Road Fund extended a helping hand to 309 Vulnerable elderly and children of Thaba Bosiu in Maseru, through donation of food parcels.
The food parcels were handed over by the Chief Executive Officer of Road Fund Mr. Nkekeletse Makara and were accepted on behalf of the community by the Member of Parliament Mr. Thabo Sofonea.
In his speech the CEO said blessed is the hand that gives than the one that takes, adding that the Fund was honoured to do the little they can afford to make an impact in the lives of those who are vulnerable before society.
Receiving the donation, the Thaba-Bosiu Member of Parliament Mr. Thabo Sofonea thanked Road Fund for bringing a smile to the needy members of the community, adding that the donation has come at an opportune time as Christmas was indeed time for giving.
“We are glad that you were responsive to our request, we will not forget what you have done to these beneficiaries, putting food on the table remains a challenge for our vulnerable people,” he concluded.
Through the CSR Programme, the Fund identifies vulnerable groups and assist them depending on their needs and availability of funds. This Financial Year the Fund is focusing on vulnerable elderly people and children.
