The Road Fund has appointed Mrs. ‘Matšepang Sekhokoane as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from 01 July 2024.
This announcement was made during a media conference convened by the Road Fund Secretariat on Tuesday, with the aim to introduce the new CEO.
“Mrs. Sekhokoane brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position, and her leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of the organisation” said Advocate Mocheta Makara when introducing the New Road Fund CEO during a recent media conference.
He said Mrs. Sekhokoane has been offered a five-year contract to serve as the CEO of The Road Fund, adding that she is entrusted to push the Road Fund mandate further, looking at the key strategic goals as outlined in the Road Fund Strategic Plan.
In her brief speech, the new CEO Mrs. Sekhokoane said that she will do her best to fulfil her responsibilities, adding that her main goal is to increase revenue collection to better finance the road infrastructure in the country.
She expressed her pleasure to be part of the organisation for a period of five years, appealing to Management and staff to work with her in taking the Road Fund to new heights.
Mrs. ‘Matšepang Sekhokoane is a 46-year-old Masters in Business Administration (Leadership) graduate from Walden University in the USA. She has specialised in amongst others, Managing and Leading People, Business Operations, Financial Management and Business Strategy.
She has a vast experience of about 20 years of progressive growth within the public and private sectors. She also has more than six years working and establishing relationships in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
She succeeds Mr. Nkekeletse Makara, who served the Road Fund Secretariat as Chief Executive Officer for the past 11 years.
