The Road Fund Secretariat has officially bid farewell to five outgoing Board Members, marking the end of their tenure with a ceremony that recognised their leadership, dedication and significant contributions to the organisation’s growth.
The ceremony was hosted by the Secretariat and attended by current and outgoing Board Members as well as the Management Team in Maseru on Friday.
In her welcome remarks, the Road Fund Chief Executive Officer Mrs. ‘Matšepang Sekhokoane thanked the outgoing Members for their visionary oversight in implementing strategic improvements, reinforcing governance structures and supporting initiatives that have helped ensure sustainable funding for road maintenance and development across the country.
“Our outgoing Board Members have played a pivotal role in strengthening the Road Fund Secretariat and shaping the progress we see today; their knowledge, integrity and tireless dedication have left a lasting mark on the Secretariat and on the national road network itself.” She reiterated.
On behalf of Management, the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance Mr. Phoka Thene expressed sincere gratitude to the outgoing Board Members for their leadership and unwavering support. He highlighted their role in strengthening governance, promoting accountability and guiding the Road Fund’s strategic direction; further assuring them that Management remains committed to upholding the strong foundations they helped establish.
Speaking at the occasion on behalf of the current Board Members Mr. Thato Morojele thanked the outgoing members for their dedicated service, noting that their leadership has strengthened the Road Fund’s governance and operations. He added that the current board is committed to building on the solid foundation they leave behind.
On behalf of the outgoing Directors Mr. Sepitle Masenyetse expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, noting that their tenure has been both fulfilling and transformative. He thanked Road Fund Management, Staff and stakeholders for their support and collaboration and emphasised that the progress achieved was a result of a collective effort.
“We are confident that as we leave, the Secretariat is on the right direction and we trust that the incoming members will advance the mission with renewed energy and vision”, he concluded.
The Board Chairperson Mr. Makotoko Makotoko thanked the outgoing members for their dedicated service and strategic leadership, adding that their commitment to good governance and accountability has strengthened and positioned the organisation for continued progress.
He expressed confidence that the foundation they leave behind will support the incoming Board’s future work and extended his best wishes to the outgoing members in their next endeavours.
The outgoing Board members are Mr. Khotso Moleleki who served as Deputy Chairperson as well as Mr. Sepitle Masenyetse, Mr. Khoabane Khalema, Mr. Reatile Elias and Mr. Tefo Macheli who served as Members.
