Road Fund has just financed emergency road maintenance works implemented by the Roads Directorate recently.
At the Kofi Annan Road near Khubelu, part of the pavement had collapsed, a gabion retaining wall had to be build to support the embankment. The collapse had also affected the culvert beneath the embankment hence the emergency works.
Still on the Kofi Annan Road near the Juvenile Prison, two leaking water mains beneath the pavement layers caused serious failure to the pavement layers. The situation had to be corrected to maintain better riding quality by the road users.
The works are undertaken in line with the Fund’s responsibility to finance routine, emergency and periodic maintenance of roads in Lesotho.
The Project cost is estimated to a tune of M1, 130, 210.00.
