Road Fund has extended a helping hand to orphans and vulnerable children of Ha Lejone, through a donation of school uniform and accessories delivered to the beneficiaries during a ceremony held at Ha Lejone last Friday.
This was a follow up donation for the ten identified beneficiaries, as they received food parcels for Christmas last year in December.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Road Fund Public Relations Manager Mrs. Phumla Moleko expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Fund to have been able to return to Ha Lejone to further assist the children with their school needs.
She said Road Fund felt obliged to assist with school items so that the beneficiaries could also continue with their studies without any hindrance, further expressing hope that the uniform would indeed bring the necessary positive change into the children’s’ lives, so that in the end they are able to concentrate on their studies and perform to the best of their abilities.
She concluded by encouraging the children to work hard at school at all times, and to the caretakers to never despair no matter the challenges they face, as long as the children are still able to continue studying, as their future depends on it.
Speaking on behalf of the parents Mrs. ‘Makhethang Molato said they remain very thankful to Road Fund for improving the lives of their children, adding that they are overwhelmed with joy because of what the Fund has done to the children.
The Local Government Counselor Mr. Jabari Jabari said the beneficiaries are future leaders, saying that the gesture will definitely brighten their lives, and will therefore work hard and do well in school, until they grow up and follow their various dreams.
The donation was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility programme of the Road Fund, where vulnerable groups are identified and assisted, depending on their needs and availability of funds.
